From ecdirector at aiias.edu Mon Aug 17 07:00:00 2026 From: ecdirector at aiias.edu (English Center Director) Date: Mon, 17 Aug 2026 07:00:00 +0800 Subject: [English Center] Welcome to the First Semester, Term A (2026-2027 Academic Year) Message-ID: *Dear English Center Student,* I am pleased to welcome you to the first semester of the new school year. This is Tem A, and we have started our second week of classes. Even though we are all adults and I have already shared all the information with you during last week's orientation, allow me to offer a few reminders: 1. Check your AIIAS email often, as it’s our official way of communicating. 2. Find ways to get involved in all activities so you can practice your English language skills. Sometimes it is necessary to stay away from your community to learn more. 3. If you want to join the Student Association, come to the English Center office to sign up for it and to confirm that the charge will go into your account (975 Pesos). 4. Avoid using your devices to provide captions or translations. Do not trust gadgets or technology; use your brain, that's the only way of learning. 5. When coming to class, bring all your materials, including your laptop and water bottle\tumbler. 6. Try your best to keep up with your grades (83%) and attendance (85%) as these two elements combined will determine if you can move up to the next level. 7. Before the beginning of each term, you have the opportunity to test your English proficiency by taking the VEPT (Versant English Placement Test). This is a requirement for entering any graduate-level program at AIIAS. 8. Avoid using any language other than English, at least while you are at the English Center. 9. Consult the class syllabus regularly so you know what to expect and you won't miss any deadlines. 10. Understand that your teacher and all English Center staff are by your side, making every effort to help you grow. Listen to their advice. 11. Enjoy the break time (9:50-10:00 am), go out of your classroom, and meet other students (no general break on Mondays). 12. All AIIAS students, faculty, and staff are expected to attend the Chapel Program every Monday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. During this week, you will experience the classes' regular schedule, from 8:00 until 12:00 in the morning, and from 1:30 until 3:30 in the afternoon. Be on time and keep your teacher informed of any issues regarding your attendance and participation. If you have any questions or concerns, go to the people and places who are knowledgeable and can help you. Follow our social media for more updates. https://www.facebook.com/aiiasenglishcenter https://www.instagram.com/aiias_english_center/?hl=en I pray you will have a successful term and your efforts will be rewarded.
