Welcome to AIIAS English Center.
We just started Term B for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
I'm glad you are joining us for the first time or once more.
Let me share with you a few tips for a successful learning time:
- Take advantage of all the opportunities AIIAS can offer you: library,
church, gym, chapel, lectures, week of prayer, mission trips, fellowship,
outreach, choirs, orchestra, etc. Your chances of learning English increase
considerably when you get involved in extra-class activities.
- Get involved with people who will help you to develop your listening
and speaking skills. Stay away from your community; you already know your
mother language, and now your brain needs to create new connections with
the English language.
- Stop using, or at least lessen, the AI (artificial intelligence) usage
and technological support for learning English; use your brain skills for
memorization and practice. That's the only way to really learn a new
language. Change your cell phone, laptop, and tablet language to English.
Study your Bible or Sabbath school lesson in English, watch videos in
English, and listen to English music. It's all about English, and you are
here to learn it: ENGLISH!!!
- Come to class on time and be focused on your goals all the time.
Classes are from Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 to 12:00, then from
1:30 to 3:30 pm. We have been registering your attendance since last week,
March 17. You need at least 85% attendance to be approved in your class and
83% minimum grade. Bring your materials and assignments, and be ready!
- Check your AIIAS email constantly and all other ways of communication,
such as the AIIAS Community (Facebook), AIIAS English Center Facebook and
Instagram account, and your teacher's messages. This way, you'll be
informed of our institution's events and activities.
- Keep close communication with your teacher. If you miss any class, you
are responsible for checking what you need to do to catch up.
- Pay attention to special holidays: April 1, 9, 17 and 18; May 1.
I wish you a happy and successful time.
